Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Madoka Magica is my personal favorite witch/magical girl anime of all time. Despite its cute art style, Madoka Magica is actually a pretty intricate and intense show with a very sad story.

The plot of this anime follows the story of two girls named Madoka Kaname and Sayaka Miki. Both of them used to be normal middle school students until one day, a magical cat-like creature named Kyuubey approaches them.

Kyuubey says that he will grant any one wish of the girls if they become magical girls and fight witches for him. Despite the warnings from a girl named Homura, the two girls decide to accept the powers.
